Have you heard of The Gap?
No, I don't mean the store where your jeans were bought, or that space between your teeth! Ha! I'm actually talking about something much more serious...If we're honest with ourselves, we all, at some point in time, have asked, " What is life about? Why does life feel empty and why is there a longing in my soul that nothing seems to satisfy?"
God is perfect and HE can fill ALL gaps and imperfections:
Jesus, who has NO “gaps”, can and WILL fill OUR gap..Jesus tells us about Himself in Colossians 1, " He is the image of the invisible God...in Him all things were created....and in Him ALL the fullness of God was pleased to dwell!" so Jesus is the One to help us with our "Gap" [our shortcomings and sin]
Heb 8:10 " I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God and they shall be my people"
We all have 'gaps'...“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23
The gap is there so you recognize your desperate NEED for God, for His forgiveness- for HIM!
John 10:10 says "The thief [ the Devil] comes only to steal and kill and destroy.I came that they might have LIFE, and have it abundantly! John 14:6 says "I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through me!" John 15:5b “Apart from me [God] you can do nothing [that counts for eternity]” We ALL have a God-Shaped VOID.
The gap IS there, and we try to fill it with JUNK [also known as sin]
Ecclesiastes says- ALL is vanity and striving after the wind, so that explains the "emptiness" of the empty things we chase after. Romans 1:21 "..they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened" [with conterfeit things to fill the gap] Romans "they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever!"
GOD WILL fill the gap, for those who admit to having GAPS / or "help needed" signs!
2 Corinthians 3:5 " Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God" 1 Peter 5:10 " the God of all grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Chirst, will HIMSELF restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you." “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.”
Jesus fills the gap - He is the One who saves us and redeems/purchases us from Hell:
Hebrews 9:15 says "Therefore, [Jesus] is the mediator, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance" Romans 5:17...much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life thru Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:6 says " And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ."
Don't WASTE anymore time filling the gap in your life with futile things!
2 Corinthians 6:2 says " Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, Now is the day of salvation"
Hebrews 3:15 "Today , if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts..."
ASK GOD, BY THE POWER AND STRENGTH OF HIS SPIRIT [not your own, remember, we're the ones with "help needed signs"] TO FILL YOU, OPEN YOUR EYES, SAVE YOU, AND SHOW YOU HIMSELF, HIS LOVE, HIS SAVING GRACE, AND HIS SON JESUS, WHO DIED FOR SIN AND CAN RESTORE, HEAL, FORGIVE, CLEANSE AND BRING YOU TO A DEEP, "GAP FILLING" ,SATISFYING RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD HIMSELF!! :-) I pray you join a Bible teaching church and get a Bible to read God's word daily, to learn of His Truth more and more!
